The Light Shining

The young think far too little of hope,
The present pervades all their thought.
The old look not at their future,
In the past it seems they are caught.

But the present with all of its glitter,
And the past with all of its gold;
Can never outdo or even compare
With treasures the future may hold.

For those who believe in the gospel,
For those who are trusting God's grace:
Their is a light shining eternal,
Its beaming from God's loving face.

If you are young or if you are old
Your life will take up a new thread;
By casting a glance toward the future
And faithfully turning your head.
