This Light Affliction

The afflictions of the righteous are many
But upon the Lord they call
For He has promised in His Word
To deliver them from all
Whether stoned, or beaten, shipwrecked
Weakened from lack of rest
Cold or thirsty, hungry
Staring in the face of death
Like that great Apostle
The one the Lord called Paul
We need not fret or worry
The Lord will deliver us from them all
This light affliction we now face
But for a moment, cannot be compared
To the glory that awaits us
And the blessings that we'll share
I pray "This Light Affliction"
Whatever it may be
Will cause in us a light to shine
And lead all men to Thee
