Mother's Quilts

Mother's quilt has many squares;
Sewn with love and many prayers;
colors red and green and black;
Solid red lined on the back.
Bordered with a flowered print;
Many hours she must have spent.
Cut and sewn by hand just right;
Every square she knotted tight.
As I spread it on my bed
thoughts of Mother fill my head.
Now I know each tiny square
represents my Mother's prayer.
