God's Transforming Word

The Word of God, God has changed,
While God, He remained the same.
Changed from spoken to written,
To the living... as a Son.

In life the Word is creative;
In death the Word redemptive.
The Word who brings life and faith,
In His flesh conquered death.

The Word again, God did change;
When God exalted His name;
Transforming flesh to Spirit,
When sin's debt was submitted.

He proved God forgives and loves,
By the shedding of His blood,
Cleansing sin and making whole
Each believer's sin stained soul.

Now the Son, who is our guide,
Can do His work from inside.
This is God's salvation plan,
For the Word, and for all men.
