The greatest of heroes, He still lives
To mend all broken hearts, and give
Freedom from Satan's captivity,
From Satan's bondages, liberty.
He gives beauty for ashes, life's waste,
The ashes of sin, shame, and disgrace;
Then clothing us with garments of praise,
He fills us with hope, all of our days.
Voices ring with eternal gladness
Destroying all gloomy heaviness.
Like trees of righteousness we're planted
All this from the Lord we've been granted
The Spirit of the Lord is now in us!
To tell the world about God's Jesus.
To proclaim the Day of Salvation,
Of the Cross, and of God's redemption.
How God's vengeance,His wrath fell on Him
Death, the wage of every man's sin.
My Hero willingly paid that price:
He became God's living sacrifice.
Man should mourn at this; but have faith
For God raised up Jesus from his death
As a quickening spirit that lives:
This blessing to believers, God gives.
My Hero, I will celebrate this day
At His Communion table, and pray,
That each of us may glorify Him;
Who died and cleansed us from all our sin
Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.
