Prayer for Comfort

by Danette Kettwich

Questions without answers
So many how's and whys
Fists raised to heaven
Tears falling from your eyes

Hearts are heavy aching
Sleep is not easy tonight
Trying to hold together
But it's too hard to fight

Holding on to loved ones
To get you through all this
Feeling only numbness
Longing for the hug you'll miss

Losing the ones you love
It's never easy to let go
Hold on to the memories
Let your emotions show

Hold onto your mite of faith
That's what will get you through
May God bring you comfort
And a light always in your view

Isaiah 41:10 Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen you, I will help you, yes, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

2 Corinthian 1:3-4 Blessed be God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, And the god of all comfort, who comforts those who are in any trouble by the comfort which we ourselves are comforted by God.
