God the Son, forever King

There is a Rock on heaven's shore,
One who comes from God's own core.
A Rock not hewn by human birth,
Not of dust nor from this earth.
This living Word, this Son of God,
Who showed me truth, yet earth He trod.
He walked on earth with us as man.
His death was His great master plan.

And when death's cords entangled me,
His life He gave to set me free,
For then He interposed His blood,
His glory pour on me, a flood.
For darkness had engulfed my eyes
And struck my heart and mind with lies
But He was there to shine His light.
And shine throughout the darkest night.

Now I was lost and cast aside
By sin and hatred deep inside,
But He was there to rescue me.
For He's the one who set me free!
This Son of God, this gentle One,
Whose love for me the battle won.
This mighty One whose strength is great
He broke through time and changed my fate!

How can it be that he would die,
Nailed to a cross and lifted high?
The Son of God, this mighty One
Yes, Son of God, this sovereign One!
How could I know the depth of love
From God the Father high above?
For now I'm safe forever more,
Eternal life from heaven's shore.

A gift from God for trusting Him,
The one who risk His life and limb.
This God, this Son, forever King
His great love for me does ring!
