Come And Sit Awhile With Me

by Margaret Cagle

Children, I know you are very busy,
And you have lives of your own,
But I'm sitting in this nursing home,
And I am feeling so all alone.

There are people all around me,
But I so dearly miss you all.
I am wishing for a little visit,
Or even a short telephone call.

Yes, I read my Bible every day,
And I know that my Lord is near.
I talk to my God quite often,
But I miss my children so dear.

Come and sit awhile with me.
I am so lonely in this place.
Come and visit your old mother,
And let me look upon your face.

One day I'll go to be with Jesus.
I don't know when that will be,
So until then, please come visit.
Come and sit awhile with me.
