Illuminations

by Jeff Bidiman

The purple plume of morning has unfurled
A coat of dawn to wake this resting world.
Proclaiming the ascension of daylight;
Revealing the deceptions of the night.

As the atmosphere blossoms to bright blue
The wanderer absorbs this morning view
Of streaming sunlight beaming through the trees;
Soft rays of hope entwined within the breeze.

The golden light lifts high above the hills
Where its warmth removes nocturnal chills.
Raising the wanderer's waking spirit,
Which begs his heart to come and be near it.

With arms held wide, and sunbeams on his face,
He greets the daylight with a strong embrace
And speaks aloud in mornings warming air,
Conversing with creation everywhere.

"How noble is this sun our God has made!
Producing light and life, and love and shade,
Yet it finds time to spread it's warmth on me!"
He exclaims to an unsuspecting tree,

And then he turns to a fragile flower,
"These golden beams of radiant power
Come from the inner realms of outer space
To warm and guide us by God's loving grace,

"And behold, this ascension of His light
Endows us with strength to endure the night!
Shouldn't I share this awesome love He brings
Unto this man of meager offerings?"

As he ponders and prays upon these words,
He asks the lively chirping morning birds,
"What is a dove that has no song to sing?
Oh it must be a most unhappy thing!

"So lets all share our lovely songs of love
To glorify our Father up above,
Then feel His perfect purpose come unfurled
To illuminate those lost in this world!"

And as his declaration fills the air,
The wanderer ignites his light to share
With everyone he passes through the day
While rays of love illuminate his way.
