After cataract surgery on my eye,
It was inflamed and sensitive to light.
I had to drive myself to the doctor.
The sunlight was unbearably bright.
I chose to drive the slower roads,
But I felt I had to just shut my eyes.
I cried out to God in my dilemma,
And in His way, He answered my cries.
My eyes began to fill with tears.
I cried, "God, help me not to cry,"
But the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart.
"Just enough to clear your eye."
Those few tears cleared my eyes then,
And I could see how to drive with care.
I was relieved and prayed, "Thank you,
Lord, for answering my urgent prayer."
I was reminded of a Gospel song; it says,
"He washed my eyes with tears that I might see."
I know it has a spiritual meaning,
But physically, God did the same for me.
