Honoring Home Schooling Christian Mothers

by Margaret Cagle

No nobler feat can a Christian mother do
Than to love their children and teach them too.
To home school one child is a task so great,
But some mothers home school seven or eight.

To these special mothers, I tip my hat.
It must be hard for a mother to do that.
They teach each subject to each child,
And that is really just putting it mild.

They must score every child's work too.
That's a full time job for a mother to do.
They can be proud to be home schooling mothers
When they compare their child's progress to others.

What these Christian mothers try to do
Is teach Bible truths in all subjects too.
They teach the Bible with math and reading
And teach Bible principles they need to be heeding.

These are Proverbs thirty-one ladies, indeed.
They make sure that "Johnny" can read.
These mothers are well pleasing to the Lord.
One day in Heaven, they'll get a reward.

When you think, "I'm doing this all alone,"
Remember, God is still on His throne.
When you teach in winter, spring, and fall,
Dear mother, remember, God sees it all!
