Heavenly Thoughts

by Margaret Cagle

Many times I think about Heaven.
I know it's a wonderful place.
God the Father and Jesus are there.
Heaven is full of glory and grace.

All of my loved ones and friends,
Who have died and gone on before
Will also be there to meet me
On that bright, celestial shore.

In Heaven, we won't need a lamp,
Or a candle or even a flashlight,
For we'll have the light of Jesus.
In Heaven, there is never night.

The gates there are made of pearl,
And there are streets of purest gold.
There are also walls made of jasper,
In God's holy word, we are told.

There are also mansions in Heaven
That Jesus said He would prepare.
Just imagine their glorious beauty.
They are wondrous beyond compare.

Up yonder, somewhere in the North,
Beyond the stars, sun, and moon
Is the eternal home of my soul,
And I would like to go there soon!
