She kissed the cheek of her Lord God Most High

by Royston

She kissed the cheek of her Lord God Most High
as there in the manger she heard Him cry.
God; a Baby and wrapped in swaddling bands
was held safe and secure in His mother’s hands.

The angels looked down in wonder and awe
amazed at the sight that shepherds saw.
For all the fullness of the Godhead dwelt
In the One before whom the wise men knelt.

So small and fragile and confined to earth
Jesus had come to us by virgin birth.
For the Eternally Begotten One
had been born again to us as Mary’s Son.

‘Twas a defining moment in history;
when Jesus came to earth for you and me.
For God loved us all so much that He gave
His One and Only Son, the world to save.
