Autumn Dance

by Julie Carro

Autumn leaves gently falling, swirling in the wind,
Carried by the breeze, as if dancing with a friend.
Adorned in vibrant color, arrayed from tip to stem,
Their solo grand finale of gleefulness and whim.

Some spin in twirling motion, showing off their skills,
As others savor in the moment, of God's perfect will.
For this orchestra of life, started from a tiny seed,
Growing to a host of dancers, that are glorious indeed!

Now if you listen carefully, you can almost hear them call,
Join in this final dance with us and catch us as we fall.
Run and play with open arms; let's glide through the air,
Then lift us up again in this Autumn dance we share.

Let laughter be the music, as the season sets the stage,
For a wondrous performance, that welcomes any age.
A choreography of God; the Master's peaceful promenade,
His final curtain call of harvest; the eve of winter's serenade.

A pirouette of colors, from cinnamon to golden hues,
Bidding you to come, as each dancer gently woos...
Join the last performance while you still have the chance,
To open up your heart, and enter into Autumn's dance.
