To Daddy With Love

Daddy, today is Father's Day
Down here on earth below.
I want to say that I miss you,
And I wish that you could know
Just how much I love you, Dad.
I long to see your loving face.
I long to hear your voice again,
But you're in a better place.

You asked Jesus to save you
When you still were very young,
So I know you're up in Heaven.
With our loved ones, you're among.
Five years after you were gone,
Our dear mama went to join you.
Then our brother also left us.
Now all my sisters are there too.

I remember after I got married,
I went home to visit for awhile.
You would beg when I started to leave,
"Please just stay longer, 'Chile'."
Well, I'm looking forward to the day
That I can see your face once more
And I can stay longer and longer
When I arrive on that golden shore.
