Christmas Tradtions

We all have our own,
Christmas traditions . . .
and so we put our homes
through all kinds of transitions.

We set up our Christmas trees,
on branches, ornaments we dangle
we hang up Christmas stockings
along with garland on the mantle.

We all have our own,
Christmas time rituals . . .
and so our yearly customs
have become habitual.

We shop until we drop,
buying Christmas wishes on our list
we check it more than once
to make sure we get the right gift.

We cook and we bake,
Christmas pies, cakes and cookies
we peel, we dice, we roast
so we can binge on all the goodies.

We all have our traditions,
but they have no real connection . . .
to the true meaning of CHIRSTmas
they’re nothing more than a deflection!

Isaiah 9:6-7

For unto us a child is born,
unto us a son is given:
and the government shall be
upon his shoulder: and his name
shall be called Wonderful,
Counsellor, The mighty God,
The everlasting Father,
The Prince of Peace.

Of the increase of his government
and peace there shall be no end,
upon the throne of David,
and upon his kingdom, to order it,
and to establish it with judgment
and with justice from henceforth
even for ever. The zeal of the
Lord of hosts will perform this.”
