Facing Life

Today I must face life again, but this time I know that I'm ready.
I'm ready to ride out the storms, brave the hurricanes, and still remain steady.

In the past, I've had my ups and downs--more downs than I could endure.
And my smiles were made into frowns because failure kept knocking at my door.

But now it doesn't matter if I fail, for in my endeavor, I'll rise again.
I'll rise, standing tall, and with renewed strength I'll overcome the pain.

I'm not worried about today's recession, which makes the road ahead looks bleak.
I will survive. I'll never succumb to depression, for I am no longer weak.

I've been made strong through a higher power, and I'm holding on to hope.
For I know that every hour that I face this life, the Lord is helping me cope.
