Keep Running

by Raydene Nash

When others seek to put you in your place,
Or gossip not-so-secretly of you,
Remember Christian, you are in a race.
Let go that weight, the Lord will see you through.

When friendships you have cultivated waste,
And members of the church with you won't pray,
See Jesus Christ your prize and onward haste,
Let not those change your course in any way.

To every falsehood Jesus is the truth,
With every slip He is your righteousness.
He won't abandon you to those uncouth,
The Lord will see you out of every mess.

Remember Christian, you are in a race,
You run with Jesus' strength that's not your own.
You only need to know of Jesus' grace,
Oh, how in holiness and faith you've grown!

For every sleight and callous word that's said,
For each misdeed and sin against you done,
Remember by the cross to Christ you're wed,
Keep running for in spirit you are one.

Isaiah 58:11

“And the Lord shall guide thee continually,
and satisfy thy soul in drought,
and make fat thy bones:
and thou shalt be like a watered garden,
and like a spring of water,
whose waters fail not.”
