Behind the beauty of a star-filled sky
All you can see is the blackest night.

There are the eyes that must have cried.

Once in it's life, it's been torn apart.

Behind the beauty of a yielded will
There's been a battle only God could still;
Behind the beauty of a peaceful soul
There's been a struggle to let God have control;
Behind the beauty of a meaningful life
There has been a story full of pain and strife.

Remind me, dear Lord, that behind the beauty
There are the trials that draw me to thee.
There have to be storms and there has to be pain
For this heart of flesh thy beauty to gain.
