Mom Said No

by Earl W Haskins © 2015

Decisions ahead causing mommy to dread
Her guilt is measured by portion
We twins without chance to play or to dance
Will be tossed away by abortion

Unable to live we're unable to give
Our lives will have nothing to say
And deprived of a voice we're given no choice
We're hunted as though we are prey

It’s clear that a womb in becoming a tomb
Was never of God’s intention
He's given us life that is taken by knife
In ways too gruesome to mention

We wanted no other but mom as our mother
Though her heart was too cold to thaw
If we made it to three oh the love there would be
Our bond would have left her in awe

So twin don't you fear as I'll always be near
We're all that we know about love
In forgiving our mom for doing this wrong
Let's pray we all meet up above
