My Bride

by Donna Hendrix

She is the love of my life
The pretty girl I took as my wife
She is part of the joy down in my heart
From which I never want to part
God blessed our union together
Just like two birds of a feather
We've truly been as one in the flesh
As man and wife a perfect mesh
As years pass by, she is becoming frail
We're so not ready to begin this trail
I pray Father God that you will restore her strength
That she may continue to go the length
Within our home make her safe and sound
Let peace and contentment once again be found
And as the years continue to pass
I pray Lord that her strength will last
I need her with me by my side
God's gift to me, my precious bride.
