More Than These

by RG SMITH

Though I toiled in the darkness
For the things that could not please.
In the light of dawn I saw Him,
Who created all the seas.

Cast your net unto the right
Then come and dine on some of these.

He always gives just what I needed,
Gently puts my mind at ease.

Like the calm upon the waters
When He stills the ocean breeze.
He satisfies my hunger
I am driven to my knees.

Then I hear Him softly Whisper
His voice echoes through the trees.
Do you love me? Do you love me?
DO you love ME more than these?

They're like sheep without a shepherd
Feed My lambs just what they need.
Go and give of my sweet nectar
It's like honey to the bees.

Unlock the gate and lead them forth.
For I have given you the keys.
Do you love me? Do you love me?
Do you love me more than these?

When my mind began to wander
From the Call He'd given me.
And I thought my fulfillment
Could be found upon the sea.

He came and gave me purpose
Then these words He said to me
Do you love me? Do you love me?
Do you love me more than these?
