Airport

by Jaelyne Lamb

I sit and gaze for a little while.
My eyes land on an innocent smile.
You watch the people but keep your pace,
And you never stop to see their face.
What if you did? What would you see?
I'm scared to see what used to be me.
They're in control and they're the boss,
But I see the pain and I feel the loss.
Father I ask, please give them peace,
Give their lives a brand new lease.
In my life you now rule,
Lord, let me be your mighty tool.
Their needs are great but you're greater still,
Expose the gap only you can fill.
Of hope, there is a tiny ray,
As the people continue on their way.
