Direct What You Know

by Melinda Young © 2005

My knowledge is limited;
My heart, sometimes untrue.
Though my body is tired,
I am listening to You.

I am open to Your voice;
My back is no longer turned.
Once You and I join forces,
Let's show the world what I have learned.

Lord, direct what You know
Point me towards success.
Your will stands above me
And my feeble, simple-minded guess.

Direct what You know.
I'm sure I'm in for a treat.
I'd rather go places with You,
Than wind up on my own dead-end street.

I'll give You what You want;
What You will do with it, who knows?
Still, I do know that when given the chance
You are sure to get up and go.
