No Longer Sluggards

by Raydene Nash

When seeing what the Lord has done for us,
His unconditional love and favor,
The unsaved of us and devil tend to fuss,
Saying we don’t deserve it, and what for?
When considering the weight of the law,
Of how impossible it is to keep
In our own strength, and it shows every flaw,
At God’s forgiveness our hearts tend to leap.
Dissatisfied with the old covenant,
Jesus died and rose to bring in the new.
No longer sluggards, we look to the ant,
While trusting Jesus to His word is true.
Living by the Spirit, not the letter,
Knowing without Him we’re none the better.
