Power of Prayer

Prayer is the breath of the soul.
By it our Father upholds
Our spiritual lives,
Connected in Christ,
As the Spirit makes our wants known.

On our own we fail to see
The true needs of those in need,
But if Christ we seek,
And come to Him meek,
His Spirit will then intercede.

According to God’s perfect will
Is the way that our prayers are fulfilled,
Since the Spirit groans
To interpret tones
Of God’s saints praying songs with great thrill.

For they know it’s a grace from on high
To petition God’s throne with their cry,
Like a sweet fragrance,
Anointed incense,
Ascending to Christ the Divine.
