The Perfect Shell

I walked the ocean shore
Thanking You for this day
And waves flowed gently across my feet
As I pondered what to say

This day is truly perfect
The breeze the colors the smell
You've given me more than I can imagine
Yet at my feet You dropped the perfect shell

As I bend to pick it up
My heart is filled with peace
The shell rests firmly in my palm
And I feel a sweet release

For every moment of my life
You speak to me this way
Constantly giving me precious gifts
To remember You by each day

And again I stare at the perfect shell
Then I hold it to my ear
As I listen to Your song of love
It's Your perfect voice I hear
