The Empty Cross

The cross is where it was finished,
And the cross is where it began.
The blood Jesus shed was necessary-
Without His shedding there was no hope for man.

Adam failed to do what was required,
As he sat and watched Eve that day.
listen to the lies of Satan,
As she gave their authority away.

Adam had the authority to stop her
He could have run the devil off.
God provided the needed weapon
Adam's failure was the world's loss.

Adam yielded his authority
All he had to do was say.
Satan. you have no right in our garden,
Take your lies and go away.

Down through the ages,
Man has struggled while on earth,
But Jesus took away the struggle
When He gave us a new birth.

The new birth is for the taking
All you have to do is ask.
But too many people are like Adam:
To speak is too big a task.

So now the cross is empty
It served its purpose well.
You can ask for forgiveness
Or spend eternity in hell.
