The Thorn

by Donna Hendrix

A thorn in the flesh you sent to me
A reminder of the strength that I need from thee
I cannot walk this life alone
Strength I draw from my Savior's throne

A thorn in the flesh, I beg you to take
You answered no; lest you I forsake
I am too weak for these burdens of mine
But His strength is sufficient to tow the line

A thorn in the flesh, a reminder of thee
I will not fight it; it is meant to be
For when I am weak, He is strong
And Christ's power rests upon me all the day long
