Blessed are they who receive the Word;
And in whose hearts it takes deep root.
Blessed are they who understand it -
And with patient well-doing bring forth fruit.

To them who keep it, even more will be given;
An abundant treasure they will have.
But those people will lose everything -
Whose hearts are dull, whose ears are deaf.

Always be careful how you listen, therefore;
To the living Kingdom-Word of God!
Prepare your heart, make it fertile ground;
Because on this, depends a lot.

Oh, how blessed are the eyes that see;
And how blessed those ears that hear…
How happy the souls, who readily believe -
And with an honest and good heart draw near!
