The Almighty One

Petrified in the boat they were panicking
as the waves of the sea came cascading in.
Jesus awoke, and commanded the sea
“Be still,” He said with sovereign authority.

“What manner of man is this?” Amazed they cried
surprised as they saw the wind and sea subside.
The storm abated, the wind and waves did cease.
the Almighty was obeyed, they were left in peace.

Mightier still than the tempestuous sea.
Mightier than the great thunderstorm is He.
The Almighty One is the Sovereign Lord.
Wind and waves are obedient to His word.

He was present before earthly life began.
The creator of heaven, and earth and man.
The Alpha and Omega whose work is done.
The Only Son of God, The Almighty One.
