My Soul Shall Live On

My body may perish,
but, my soul shall live on
all because I believe Jesus
is God’s only begotten Son.

Eternal life I was promised,
when my sins I confessed
and from that day forward
with His Spirit I’ve been blessed.

My body is growing weak,
but my spirit’s getting stronger
for it has truly repented
and is in this world no longer.

I long for the day when,
I will spend all of eternity
with my Lord and Savior
in blissful serenity.

My body may perish,
but, my soul it shall live on
all because of God’s mercy
and the grace of His Son!
