Abiding In The Vine

by Tracy A Andrews © 2021

I am abiding in the vine,
And I know I've no cause to whine,
For the vine dresser loves me so,
And He'll make sure that I will grow.

I have Christ's life blood flowing through,
As I abide in Him, it's true,
In the vine's sap, is love for Him,
If it dries up, then me, He'll trim.

As I abide, I read God's Word,
Then I apply what I have heard.
God's Spirit helps me grow, I know,
He makes my fruit, from inside, glow.

With the Spirit's help I grow in love,
Agape love, from God above.
Joy from the gladness of God's grace,
Peace comes from knowing God's embrace.

Forbearance comes from endurance,
Bearing trials with immense patience.
Kindness, giving grace to others,
Goodness, is helping one another.

Faithfulness shows our trust in Christ,
Gentleness, anger won't entice.
Self control tames my desires,
To these fruits, my soul aspires.

With these fruit, I am a witness,
And they show, for God's work, fitness.
May I show God's love to others,
And make of them, sisters and brothers.
