Lash by Lash the pain He bore

by Royston © 2023

"Not My will, but Yours be done."
To the Father said the Son
and that awful road He trod
to the cross, The Son of God.

Lash by lash the pain He bore.
Upon His Head a crown of thorns He wore.
Then they nailed Him to the tree
and He suffered there for me,

As He hung there, His arms opened wide
they took a spear and pierced His side.
There was no other way the price to pay
and my soul was saved by Jesus that day.

God the Father, Holy Spirit and Son
by Your love, the battle has been won.
Now, the gate of heaven is opened wide
and with Jesus we can step inside.
