Triumph Over Temptation

Satan has always used a guise
as cover up for dirty lies,
and lest he catch us by surprise,
we must be wise. We must be wise.

In Eden he put on the fake,
appeared to Eve as garden snake,
taboo offered, her choice to make.
She did partake. She did partake.

He always asks, "yea, hath God said?
as to temptation you are led.
To his sly voice, you must be dead.
to get ahead, to get ahead.

Enticement comes to heart and mind.
To such allurements turn eye, blind.
Speak out these words in voice unkind,
Get thee behind! Get thee behind!

'Tis common to humanity.
Seductions come to you and me.
Be sure, God's Word makes satan flee.
There's victory! There's victory!

"Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?" Genesis 3:1

"There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it." I Corinthians 10:13

"Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. ΒΆ Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him." Matthew 4:8-11
