Living in a world
Where mankind is hailed as King,
In pursuit of fame and fortune
And displaying all that bling.
This leaves my stomach empty,
It makes my senses cry.
It seems my "works" are useless
No matter how I try.
I strive so hard to get there,
The race I run to win.
But my soul is black and burdened
By the weight of all my sin.
I doubt that I will find it,
The place my heart does long.
My mind is ever fearful
Of life thereafter, where I belong.
"I'll trade your sin for righteousness."
I heard my Savior say.
Your faith, alone, will save you
And heaven: be your stay.
My doubt has turned to certainty.
For my disease, I found a cure.
My mind can now rest peacefully
In my Eternity...I'm SURE!
