Signs

On this day not long ago
Another angel gained their wings,
Leaving those who loved her so
Left only with tangible things.

An empty hollow grew inside
Our hearts set on the verge to break,
For of this life our dear Lord took
Was one we still longed to embrace.

But if you stop, take time to think
He'll show you never did they leave,
For through the pain and tears of loss
God sent them back to help us grieve.

Whenever life makes breathing tough
Don't Stop Believin' starts to play,
Or if a day seems much too rough
A butterfly helps guide the way.

Then on a recent darkened night
Feeling so lost and out of place,
A bright bouquet of sunflowers
Was gifted by a girl named Grace.

Yet even though she now is gone
We see in signs sent from above,
That no one's heart does truly die
When they did fill your life with love.
