May God Bless You, Veterans

To you, dear veterans, our honor is due.
For your devoted service, we truly thank you.
You served to protect our freedoms so dear,
So we can lead lives with no tyranny to fear.

You probably deserved more than you were paid,
And you may never be honored in any parade,
And you may not be honored by song or band,
But you deserve great honors for serving our land.

Some of you risked your lives every single day
On a cruel battlefield in a land so far away,
And some of you suffered great bodily harm,
And some of you even lost a leg or an arm.

For our dear great nation, you did your part.
You served your country with a patriot's heart.
Again we say "thanks" for your service so true.
