Christ's Joy

Because of Jesus God sees us as good,
For every person’s sins Christ did atone.
Saved souls, we carry crosses not of wood,
In our struggling we are not alone.
Us like a roaring lion Satan stalks,
Our conquered foe would kill and steal and lie.
If you’re discouraged with your earthly walk,
Himself, says scripture, Jesus can’t deny.
Christ lives, and our weights we can set aside,
And if the devil roars that God is mad,
To see things His way we may then decide.
We are Christ’s joy, and when we’re saved, He’s glad,
So even when we can’t see what He’s doing,
Christ Jesus is the devil’s schemes’ undoing.
