The greatest gift

by Frankie May © 2019

Right from the mouth
Of the prophets of old
The words that they said
Ever so bold

Proclaimed the Messiah
To ears that would hear
A king would be born
That would take away fear

The hope of the world
Would someday arrive
He'd cure is from death
Make us alive

He'll calm the storm
That lives in our soul
We'll walk with Him on water
He'll never let go

Two thousand years later
We wait still we wait
Generations die off
While we celebrate

Some give from their heart
They know the reason
Some give just to get
Greed is their season

The world has forgotten
What really dose matter
Distracted by glitz
The toys and the glamour

They're not interested in hearing
It's for their salvation
The greatest gift
For all of the nation's

I'm sure that they think
The Christ child is special
But that's where they keep him
Lying in a small manger

All will soon see Him
In all of His glory
Angles will sing
We know the end of the story

Hark the herald Angels sing
Sing glory to our
Everlasting KING!
