And still there is room…

by Bettina Van Vaerenbergh

One day, when the last gentile has been saved,
The Lord Jesus Christ will return to this earth.
He'll come for His saints, for His holy church;
She is His bride, His pearl of invaluable worth.

God has prepared a wonderful feast in heaven;
For the church and for Christ, her bridegroom.
So many people are on the guest list already;
And yet His house isn't full, still there is room.

God has not yet closed the door to the Kingdom;
His invitation still stands, it's open to all -
But many are too busy, to hear His gentle voice;
They're turning a deaf ear to the Gospel-call.

They run to and fro, gathering earthly treasures;
Serving the mammon, the god of this world.
He has blinded their eyes, they can't see the truth;
Unknowingly they sneer at God and His Word.

It breaks God's heart, to see all these people
Losing themselves, thinking they're on their own.
He longs so badly to wrap His arms around them;
To shower them with love, to welcome them home.

God does not desire for a single soul to be lost;
That's why He waits, forever, or so it seems.
Meanwhile, this old world just keeps going 'round;
People buying and selling, chasing their dreams.

Centuries have gone by, and still God is waiting;
A thousand years are to Him like one day…
He wants all men to be saved, all men to know -
That Jesus Christ is the Truth, the Life and the Way!
