CROSSROAD TRAVELER

by Janette Lueveen

Here I stand Lord,
I’m packed and ready to go
I’m waiting at the crossroad,
My destination, I do not know

One arrow points to the East,
Another turns West.
There is a North and a South,
Show me Lord, which way is best?

My suitcase is filled
With all that I need,
Faith, love and trust,
And a heart faithful to thee

Left behind is earthly wealth,
And all the things that rust.
My worldly treasures and pride,
Proved worthless as the dust.

Shall I walk alone,
On a path I cannot see?
Shall I fight the wind or
Seek shelter beneath your tree?

Will you lift me far and high?
Within your heavenly jet?
Or make me trod barefoot
Up lonely hills, with tears and sweat?

I’ll stand on your promises,
As I wait here for you
My faith rests in your word,
For I know it is true
