In The Beginning God

God speaks and the entire world appears,
Allowing it to survive for a number of years.
With a book giving details of how it began,
Creating in the authority that only God can.

In the beginning God and the bible unfolds,
Revealing the truths in a book God controls.
Putting man in charge of life here on earth,
Being made in God's image at creation birth..

Man failed God and followed Satan into sin.
His word tells the history of where man's been.
He tests God's patience over and over again,
Reform for a time and back to where he'd been

God named Israel to become His chosen nation,
Choosing these above the others of His creation.
Yet they turned away to worship idols, not God,
In troubled times, seek and get His forgiving nod.

God's book recorded many events taking place,
Of good and evil committed by the human race,
Ending with good news concerning all mankind,
With Jesus shed blood, none need be left behind.
