Covered

I walked a path that seemed alone.
I know that I didn't measure up.
With age I now feel every bone.
from sin in life that fills my cup.

I too deserve His lake of fire.
My heart was dark and lost to Him.
That guilt in life - my muck and mire.
His light of truth was always dim.

I read HIs word, what more to say.
His wrath should burn and cast me out.
I failed every test along the way.
I never caught what life was about.

But love instead of wrath came through.
He died in my place with love so strong.
He opened my mind to all that is true.
The stand He took - to right every wrong.

He died to all pain that He ever felt.
His blood He shed to bring life's cure,
and washed my sin and covered my guilt,
and shattered death so life would endure.

Wow! Then He rose with death in tow!
New life He grants to all who believe.
For He alone could conquer that foe!
He shares His crown that none could achieve.

He pours on us His treasures and more...
This man, this King, this God who is.
and bids us come; walk through His door.
"I AM" is His name. Forever I'm His.

So now I am coved by righteous blood.
Yes, covered I am for eternity.
He took my sin, my guilt, my crud.
I'm granted freedom by His degree.
