Christmas Day

by A Janeen Quillman

Gather around the Christmas tree,
The family is all here,
With presents wrapped for everyone
To spread some love and cheer.

The turkey's in the oven, and
The stuffing smells just fine.
There are nuts, snacks and candy bowls,
So take some no one minds.

We talk and laugh about the past
At all the things we've done.
We look with pride upon our kids
And brag on the little ones.

In prayer we thank the Lord for all
His blessings through this year
And ask Him for His care to rest
Upon each person here.

Let's spend this time to celebrate
The birth of God's own Son
Who saved us all from sin and death,
The victory Jesus won.

Our hearts are filled with love and joy
That cannot pass away,
Because God gave His greatest gift
The gift of Christmas day!

“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof, but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.” 1 John 2:15-17
