Creatures Of The Night

by Carol Connell © 2020

Creatures of the night
are active while you sleep;
to many, out of sight
as they work to earn their keep.

Creatures of the night
come to life in the dark.
They just can't abide the light.
Blackness, their inspiring spark.

Creatures of the night
some burrow under the ground,
In stealth they do delight,
not wishing to be found.

Creatures of the night,
some of them are people
In wickedness unite
to silence righteousness, subvert the steeple.

Creatures of the night
are like a lurking cancer.
They must not gain the oversight.
To expose them is the answer.

Creatures of the night,
multitudes they have hurt.
Yet they never escape God's sight
and will receive their just dessert.

"Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober." I Thessalonians 5:5,6

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." Ephesians 6:12

"And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them." Ephesians 5:11
