I have found a friend in Jesus
he's the sweetest name I know
and Darlene, you're the reason why
today I love him so.

I met you in a laundromat

though you were only fourteen then
you knew just what to do.

You helped me with my children
reached out with love and care
bought candy from the vending machine
and the goodies, you did share.

You prayed for my salvation
new life from God above
thank you for not giving up on me
but speaking the truth in love.

I'm thankful for your boldness
