The baby Jesus lay in the manger.
Mary was resting nearby.
Joseph stood watching for any sign of danger.
The flock stood silently by.
The star overhead brightly shone
To guide those who would come seeking Him.
To this lowly birthplace they called home
And the tiny child that lay sleeping within.
The three wise men appeared bearing gifts
For this Savior, this Messiah, this King.
For they knew this child they sought
Would, one day, their salvation bring.
Twas a night like never before.
No other time could ever compare
To the miracle that lay before them
And the Joy they all would, one day, share
This tiny baby, asleep in the manger,
Swaddled and laying in the hay
Fulfilled all the scriptures written of Him.
Fulfilled all the promises God had made
Of a Redeemer, a Savior, the Messiah
The one true King of all Israel
Let all the world shout His Glory
Let all who see, the world, tell
Shout it from the rooftops!
Sing it loudly, all to proclaim
A Child is Born, a new hope is given
Praise God and His Holy Name.
