Waiting on the Lord

I trust in the promise of the Lord
That if on Him you patiently wait,
You will mount up on eagle's wings;
You will walk, and you won't faint.

But sometimes, when I am weary
And my faith is not so strong -
It happens that, while I am waiting,
I wonder why He's taking so long…

The hard part is having patience;
God isn't late, I look too far ahead!
To be content, whatever state I'm in;
I guess I'm still no expert at that.

The Lord will come through for me;
I know it deep down in my core.
I know He will renew my strength -
He's done it so many times before.

I will run again, and I will fly again;
God cannot lie, His Word is true.
Weary sister or brother, take heart;
Because it's for certain: So will you!
