THE HOLY WAR

The battle between good and evil is on a battleground filled with trenches,
The gloves are off the swords are drawn, death to evil and it's stenches.
Our position in this is a crucial one, we're standing in the middle,
To avoid defeat, the armies of darkness, with our delicate souls must fiddle.

Our communications with God they'll debilitate,
With lies abuse and heresy they'll saturate,
With their beauty and light they'll captivate,
Their importance and position they'll extrapolate,
All that we hold sacred they'll desecrate,
Our security and faith they'll dissipate,
Worldly ways and doctrines they'll dictate,
All suffering and hurt they perpetuate,
Our day to day lives they complicate,
An eternity in torment they would have us cremate,
The victory of Jesus they try to negate.

But if we remain in our armour steadfast and strong,
With the companies of Angels we'll know we belong.
God gives us the strength to hold our position,
His Spirit gives courage against all opposition.

All our worries and weariness he'll alleviate,
His people, from all sin he'll exonerate,
Over battlefield skies his love will radiate,
Holiness and iniquity he will eternally separate,
Evils speedy defeat he will facilitate,
Our weapons and spiritual gifts he will consecrate,
The enemies influence he will stop and encapsulate,
All his creation he will stamp and authenticate,
With the victims and martyrs he will commiserate,
He will judge all Earth harshly, with no debate,
For sinners and darkness, the ultimate magistrate.

The evil ones know that their time is short,
On thin ice they stand, with no means of support.
They bluster and threaten, all puffed up and boasting,
Knowing full well that soon they'll be roasting.

Into false churches and doctrines they urge to participate,
They say that their leader is the most powerful potentate,
Stories of heroes and victories they fabricate,
Our hearts, with fiery darts they lacerate,
Into laziness and sloth they would have us habituate,
With idols and statues they push us to affiliate,
The feelings of Saints they subvert and misappropriate,
The ways of the world they fine tune and machinate,
Disorder and chaos they promote and agitate,
Till the last trump is blown they want us to vegetate.

But resist the temptations and hold fast to the Word,
Overcome till the shout of Lord Jesus is heard.
Walk the good walk and fight the good fight,
Fend off the darkness and cleave to the light.

For God's power and might before all he will declarate,
The books will be opened and the figures he'll tabulate,
The spirits of his warriors he will vindicate,
The armies of darkness his sword will obliterate,
His glory, honour and majesty he'll demonstrate,
The ending of time his voice will narrate,
For the hardships of life his riches will compensate,
The throne of the Earth Satan will abdicate,
To the Lamb who was slain all believers will congregate,
Principalities and powers before him disintegrate,
All of the fallen he will condemn and castigate.

Dig in with your heels and don't give an inch,
It wont be a cakewalk, and far from a cinch.
Shake the moths off the armour and shore up the shield,
Overcome to the last and our future is sealed.

AUTHORS NOTE:
A long, long time ago their was a battle in Heaven. The rebels under God's most senior Angel lost and were cast down to Earth. The battle may be over but the war certainly is not, (although it's outcome is a predetermined victory to the Lord), and until the final trump of victory is sounded we must stand against the attacks of our God's enemies. As the song goes, "Whatever Satan can do, God can do better", (or something like that), we must draw strength from the fact that we are on the winning side and that all things are possible to us if we stand on our faith. However we cant forget who we are up against, and must treat our enemy with caution, for without Jesus as our Captain he would walk all over us without an ounce of effort.
